I'm back with two more interesting, healthy, super quick and absolutely delightful homemade recipes of dabeli masala powder and dabeli ready to use paste. Sharing recipes with step by step photos.



Dabeli is a very famous and delicious street food of India, originating in the Kutch region of Gujarat. It is prepared with a spiced filling of mashed potatoes with a bunch of colorful healthy toppings. It is also known as Kutchi dabeli, double roti or dabeli.. 


Today's recipe is again my one of the most confident recipe and I assure you that after attempting this recipe you don't look anywhere for Dabeli or Dabeli masala recipe..


Dabeli is my mom's one of the most favorite snack. I still remember my very first dabeli preparation... I thought it will be simply rejected and all the efforts and ingredients are surely going to be wasted.. To my great surprise ... everyone in the family very much liked and not a single spoon got wasted.. Honestly, it was not a good recipe as I felt it needed a lot of improvement and after a few trial and errors, this snack became most loved snack in our house




As you all know I love to explore and create recipes considering our food habits and it is my one of the most loved recipes. Trust me, whoever tasted Dabeli said this is super delicious and in fact they were surprised as this is homemade recipe of dabeli and even masala added in his recipe is prepared by me...





What's so special in my Dabeli masala recipe?

Well, the first thing it is not only a simplified and healthy recipe, but created after R&d to get the perfect taste.. This recipe is so good that tamarind chutney can be easily skipped . I assure you, your family will become a big fan of this recipe.



I have made two types of Dabeli masala.. The first one is dabeli masala powder and second is ready to use Dabeli masala paste... 




I'm partaking in both the recipes today.. But I mainly follow second method as prepare ready to use dabeli paste and add them in mashed potatoes.. So lets learn as how to make dabeli masala 

☑First Recipe - Dabeli Masala Powder




▫Recipe details 
▫Preparation time 3-5 minutes 
▫Cooking time 3-5 minutes 

☑Ingredients required 


▫4-5 tsp coriander seeds
▫4-5 Kashmiri red chillies or 
▫1tbsp Kashmiri chilli flakes 
▫3-4 tsp red chilli powder 
▫½ tsp black peppercorn 
▫1tbsp sesame seeds (til)
▫2-3 tsp fennel seeds (saunf)
▫1tbsp roasted peanuts 
▫2 tsp cumin seeds
▫¼ aniseed flower (Optional)
▫5-6 cloves 
▫1 inch stick cinnamon (dalchini)
▫1tsp black salt


☑Method 


◾In a fry pan, add all the ingredients mentioned below and dry roast for 2-3 minutes on slow flame. 

◾Ingredients which needs dry roasting are as follows - cumin seeds, fennel seeds, coriander seeds, cloves, aniseed flower, sesame seeds, whole red chillies, black pepper and cinnamon stick. Allow it to cool down. 

◾Now in a grinder jar, add roasted ingredients, chilly flakes chilly powder, black salt and roasted peanuts and grind it to powder. Use as an when required. (For 5-6 medium size potatoes.. We need 4-5 tsp of this masala powder)



☑Second recipe Ready to use dabeli masala paste



☑Ingredients required 
(For 5-6 medium size potatoes)


▫1 lemon size tamarind or 1-2 tbsp tamarind pulp
▫40-50 grams Jaggery or as per taste 
▫1tbsp ghee / butter or cooking oil

▫4-5 tsp dabeli masala powder 

Or
▫1½ tsp dry roasted coriander seeds▫2 slightly roasted whole red chillies ▫4-5 black pepper ▫1-2 cloves▫½ tsp cumin seeds▫1tsp roasted fennel seeds▫small stick cinnamon ▫2 tsp red chilli powder▫pinch of rock / black salt▫2tsp sesame seeds▫1tbsp roasted peanuts 

☑Method


◾Combine all the ingredients in a mixer grinder jar and grind to fine paste. Our dabeli paste is ready...
