How to make Mango Mastani | Pune's Favorite Mango Mastani Delicious Mango Ice Cream Shake | Pune's Delicious Mango Drink | Thick Mango Shake with Ice cream

I am back with one more summer special mango recipe for you. Sharing pune's delicious mango drink recipe with step by step pictures.



Tu cheez badi hai mast mast is the best suited words for this very popular Puneri Mango Milk Shake. Kha kay peeyo ya pee kay khao aur mast raho.. 




Did you know the age-old Mastani joint - Gujjar Cold Drink House, now called as Gujjar Masani House located near the Dutta Temple, Pune which was established in 1923, this is the place where this popular beverage was created and served for the first time.




This drink was initially called as Ice Cream Cold Drink. Initially that was, 94 years ago, when this beverage was served to the puneri people, they used to appreciate this drink with word "Mast" i.e. Awesomely Delicious. And then this place has become so popular and who ever tasted this drink use to call it Mast like Mastani so that's how this drink got its name.


Mango Mastani is a very delicious concoction of milk, mango pulp, ice cream and dry fruits. This recipe is my version of Mango Mastani.


☑Let's get started - Recipe details

🔸Cuisine - Indian
🔸Servings 3-4

☑Ingredients required

🔹3 Alphonso mangoes - roughly chopped (Keep it aside few cubes for garnish)
🔹3-4 scoops mango ice cream
🔹1-2 tbsp fresh cream (optional)
🔹⅓ tsp cardamom powder
🔹3-4 tbsp sugar or as per taste
🔹1 - 1½ cups full cream milk
🔹3-4 Vanilla ice cream scoops for garnish
🔹Few Ice cubes
🔹Mixed chopped nuts for garnish
🔹Glazed Cherry for garnish




☑Method
♨ Step 1 - soak mango pieces in hot sugar syrup

◾Combine sugar and ⅓ cup water and boil it on high flame for 2-3 minutes. Soak chopped mango pieces in hot sugar syrup for 8-10 minutes. This step is optional and can be skipped, but I love to follow this step as works great in mango milk shake and mango lassi.




♨ Step 2 Blend

◾Combine soaked mango pieces, mango ice cream, fresh cream, cardamom powder and 2-3 ice cubes in a blender jar and blend it on high speed for 2-3 minutes.






◾Add milk, blend again for 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy. Keep it in the freezer compartment for 15-20 minutes.









◾Pour blended milk over ice in a mason glass jar. Top it with vanilla ice cream scoop. Garnish it with mango cubes, cherry and chopped nuts of your choice . Always serve it chilled.
