Mint Syrup Recipe

How to make Mint Syrup|  Homemade Pudina Syrup Recipe

Hello Friends,

Today's post is again summer special, refreshing, concentrated mint syrup recipe which is best suited for Mojito, cocktails, mocktails, lemonade, cakes and desserts.

A refreshing glass of this ice cold mint syrup will keep you cool on a scorching summer's day.

In today's recipe I have used fresh mint leaves as well as mint candy and mint essence which is easily available in grocery stores in India.

The plan of action for this recipe is to cook fresh mint leaves in sugar syrup and then filter it..

☑ Let's get started with recipe details

  • Servings 10-15 glasses
  • Preparation time 5-10 minutes
  • Cooking time 10-12 minutes
  • Best place to store - refrigerator
  • Best time to consume within 2 weeks

☑ Required

▪1 cup water (300ml)
▪1 cup sugar (300 grams)
▪1 cup fresh mint leaves (approximately 60-70 mint leaves)
▪5-7 mint candies
▪pinch of food color - green
▪1 tsp mint essence
▪1 tsp rock salt
▪1tbsp lemon juice

☑Method
✔Step 1 Mise en place

◾Mint leaves - Washed, stems removed and roughly chopped or make a paste by adding ½ cup water.

◾Mint candy - grinder it and prepare a fine powder.

✔Step 2 syrup preparation

◾Combine water and sugar in a saucepan and boil on high heat until sugar is dissolved. Keep stirring in between to avoid sticking.. When the sugar is fully dissolved, add food color, rock salt, lemon juice mint paste and powdered mint candy and cook on slow flame for 7-10 minutes.. Or until reduced to 80%.

◾Allow it to cool down, add mint essence and then pour mint syrup through a fine sieve and then transfer the syrup in a clean airtight bottle. It is best to refrigerate in an air tight bottle and use within 2 weeks.

☑Serving Suggestion:

◾ This is concentrated mint syrup and can be diluted before serving. Blend one part mint syrup with five parts water. Add pinch of salt, 1tsp rock salt and lemon juice mix well. Serve Chilled.

Summer is very hot this year too, and cooking in kitchen means be in the sauna bath.:) Due to high temperature and humidity, it feels really irritating.. These natural homemade drinks are very much needed in this season.

  5. Try with jaggery instead of sugar. Why to use green color artificial, I think mint leaves can give good green shade. With this, it may be more healthy and natural.
    However, it's good recipe
