How to make flaxseed & Garlic Dry Chutney, Flax Seeds Chutney Powder, Flax Seeds Podi, Alsi Chutney 


Hello Friends,

Today I'm going to share one more interesting and healthy recipe of flax seeds for this winter season. This flax seed chutney powder is a healthy combination of many ingredients and spices which are added up in this chutney to make it very tasty and healthy as well. 


Flaxseeds are the ultimate powerhouse of nutrition. These tiny seeds are rich in omega 3 fatty acids, protein and fiber. Flax seeds are also known as linseed. ALSI in Hindi, Gujarati, and Punjabi. Other regional names of flaxseeds are: Cheruchana vithu (Malyalis) in Kerala, Ali Vidai in Tamil. Jawas - Alashi in Marathi. Tishi in Bengali, Pesi in Oriya, Agasi in Kannada, and Telugu people call it Avise ginzalu.


This chutney can be added in your daily diet and you can serve this with chappati or jowar bhakri or can be served with sesame oil or with curd or you can also add as seasoning in your sandwiches and salads. You can as well stuff this spice mix in your masala fry recipe It's up to you how you're going to incorporate into your daily diet.. 


The action plan for this recipe is dry roasting of ingredients and blending together to form a tasty and healthy spice mix.

⚫Preparation time 10-12 min
⚫Cook time 5-7 min
⚫Category - vegetarian

♦ Ingredients required

⚫4tbsp flax seeds
⚫3tbsp Raw peanuts
⚫4-5 garlic cloves
⚫3tbsp Roasted Chana Dal
⚫2tbsp sesame seeds (Til)
⚫1tsp black pepper
⚫5-6 Kashmiri red chillies 
⚫1tsp cooking oil
⚫1tbsp chilly powder
⚫Pinch of black salt
⚫Pinch of sea salt 
⚫Salt to taste


☑Method:-


♨ Step 1 - Mise en place 


Dry Roasting - Dry roast following ingredients on slow flame for 3-5 minutes till it starts giving nice aroma. You can roast them together or separately whichever option suits you the most. Ingredients which can be roasted together : Flax seeds, red chillies, sesame seeds, black pepper, roasted Chana dal.


Dry roast shelled raw peanuts and then remove from fire and cool slightly. Then rub between fingers to remove skins. 


♨Step 2 : Cook garlic on slow flame.


◾ Take 1tsp oil in fry pan and cook garlic on slow fire till the change in color.



♨Step 3 - Cool down


◾ Allow all ingredients to cool down.

♨Step 4 Grind and store


◾Place all the ingredients in a dry grinding jar and make it as coarse powder. Store it in an airtight container.

☑Notes:


◾If you are suffering from the bowel disorder problem, then doctor consultation is must as these tiny seeds are high in fiber so it causes a laxative effect on such patients.

◾Drinking extra fluids - increase water intake while you're taking flaxseeds is recommended as fiber content is high.

◾Don't take flax seeds if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
