Quick Onion Pickle Recipe

How to prepare Instant Spring Onions in Mustard | Pickled Onions in Mustard Sauce | Quick and Delicious Spring Onion Pickle 

Onion Pickle in split mustard seeds is winter special, instant and delicious recipe of spring onions.

♦ 250g small  red onions 
Or spring onions (bulbs).(approximately 250g)

♦1tbsp red chilly powder

♦ ¼ tsp turmeric powder

♦ 1tbsp vinegar 

♦ 2tsp Split Mustard Seeds (Cracked Mustard Seeds)

♦ 1tsp mustard oil

♦ 150ml Water Boiled and cooled 

♦ Salt to taste


♦ Peel and rinse the onions. Slit the onion into four in the middle and make sure the base of the onion is intact 

♦ Take a sterilized airtight glass jar or ceramic jar. Add the onions, top with the ingredients mentioned above, i.e. split mustard seeds, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, mustard oil, vinegar and taste. 

♦ Pour the water and see to it that it covers the onions evenly. Shake this jar. 

♦ Keep this jar in sunlight or a warm place for two to three days


♦This pickle has a short shelf life, so prepare in small quantity and use up within a week's time.
