♦ 250g small red onions
Or spring onions (bulbs).(approximately 250g)
♦1tbsp red chilly powder
♦ ¼ tsp turmeric powder
♦ 1tbsp vinegar
♦ 2tsp Split Mustard Seeds (Cracked Mustard Seeds)
♦ 1tsp mustard oil
♦ 150ml Water Boiled and cooled
♦ Salt to taste
♦ Peel and rinse the onions. Slit the onion into four in the middle and make sure the base of the onion is intact
♦ Take a sterilized airtight glass jar or ceramic jar. Add the onions, top with the ingredients mentioned above, i.e. split mustard seeds, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, mustard oil, vinegar and salt.to taste.
♦ Pour the water and see to it that it covers the onions evenly. Shake this jar.
♦ Keep this jar in sunlight or a warm place for two to three days
♦This pickle has a short shelf life, so prepare in small quantity and use up within a week's time.
