How to make Matki Tadka Dal Recipe | Moth beans Curry Recipe | Matki Moth Tadka Dal Curry Recipe

Hello Friends,

My today's post is protein rich, healthy, delicious, easy to make and very much satisfying moth beans recipe. Sharing recipe of moth beans tadka dal with a stepwise pictorial guide ..

Matki aka moth bean is a drought resistant bean which is commonly grown in arid and semi arid regions of India. Vigna aconitifolia is the scientific name of this bean. The other common names of this bean are Matki, Mat Bean, Turkish gram and Dew Beans.

Moth bean is an excellent source of protein. It is rich in carbohydrates and a very good source of potassium, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium and iron.

Moth beans are mainly consumed in sprouts form and preferred as a breakfast dish. Maharashtrian famous dish Misal Pav is prepared from moth beans. Moth beans are regarded as a healthy and cheapest source of energy..

My today's recipe is prepared from overnight soaked moth beans, which are slow cooked and then tempered with spicy tomato and onion gravy and flavored with Indian spices. I had served this with long grain steamed rice and homemade mango pickle.. Trust me the very first bite was so yummilicious as if food was ordered from the restaurant ..
