How to make Sindhi Makhani Yellow Moong Dal | Buttery Moong Dal | Creamy Yellow Split Moong dal | Sindhi Dal Makhani | Kids Favorite Dal Recipe
No doubt, Yellow Makhani Moong Dal Tadka is one of the most loved dal of all age groups, but I feel this dal should be better known as Kids Favorite Dal. Kids can be picky eaters, but there are a few dishes, that are hard to resist. Yellow Makhani Moong dal is very nutritious, lip smacking, scrumptious dal recipe. Believe me, your kids will going to enjoy this dal a lot and you will love to prepare this delicious and nutritious dal again and again.
Creamy Yellow Split Moong dal is fast to cook, good to eat, very simple, healthy and tasty dal recipe, which you can make any time as very light and easy to digest. You can have this with puri, chapatti or with bread.
◾ RECIPE DETAILS

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED
1 cup split yellow moong dal
1tsp turmeric powder
2tsp red chilly powder
2tsp dry mango powder (amchur)
2tsp coriander powder
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves for garnish
1tbsp ghee
1tbsp ghee
◾For Tadka (Tempering)
Ghee or refined oil
☑ METHOD
✔ STEP 1 SOAKING OF YELLOW SPLIT MOONG DAL
◾ Wash and soak yellow split moong dal in enough water for 30 minutes.
✔ STEP 2 COOKING TIME
◾Wash and boil moong dal with water. (For one cup dal you will need 3-4 cups of water).
◾ When dal starts boiling, you will find froth is formed on the surface, now this needs to be removed, remove the froth and then add salt, turmeric and cooking oil.
◾ Cook this dal on slow flame till it gets soft (this will take 12-15 minutes.) Continue stirring in between and add water if needed, but the dal consistency should be thick as porridge.
◾When dal is soft and well cooked, churn it with a lentil masher. Keep churning till you get a smooth, creamy texture.
✔ STEP 3: TEMPER AND SERVE
◾Pour Dal in a serving bowl, sprinkle the coriander powder, dry mango powder, then red chilly powder, and coriander leaves. Add hot tempered ghee or oil over the above dry ingredients.
◾Your yummy dal is ready for serving.Serve hot with puri.
