Tips to store coriander leaves fresh in the refrigerator | How to preserve coriander leaves for long time |

Hello Friends

Today's blog post is about some interesting kitchen tips and tricks as how to store coriander leaves fresh. It worked for me and I'm glad to share this with all of you, as truly believe - "Sharing means Caring."

Please refer - a quick recap - one minute Video presentation of this blog post

Having fresh coriander leaves for garnish and presentation is one of the most important requirements for food blogging as well as for the Indian food photography.. In the initial days of my food blogging, I used to puzzle a lot, as even after following all do's and don'ts  coriander leaves always used to get deteriorated before finishing it up.. In fact, one of my friends pointed out as how I'm presenting any Indian food that too without garnish... And that time to reply her back as fresh coriander leaves are not available in my kitchen, I felt, that's such a lame excuse. I tried different permutation and combination to make it fresh, but nothing worked that time..

Eventually, this method which I'm going to share with all of you, worked for me. This method not only give life to coriander but it makes it very fresh and can be easily stored in the refrigerator for 8-10 days..

My vegetable vendor never applies a single drop of water on coriander leaves, see the image, this is how it gets handed over to me.. It became lifeless and dull within few minutes, so after buying I need to instantly follow cleaning and storing method to store it for long.

Let's get started
Ingredients required

🌱A bunch of coriander leaves

1. Rinse and soak

🌱Rinse coriander leaves very well. You need to repeat this until you obtain clear water. Then soak the leaves along with the stems in the fresh drinking water for 5-10 minutes. If your leaves are already wet, then skip soaking process.

2. Keep the coriander bunch in the colander - Dry the coriander leaves completely

🌱It's time to dry the coriander completely. Drain the water from coriander by letting it sit in a colander for 1-2 hours..

3. Trim off the ends

🌱With the help of a kitchen knife or scissor trim the stems. Please check and toss away the damaged leaves.

4. Place the leaves in the plastic container...

🌱 You don't need an airtight container for this. But make sure it should have good space so that you can easily store leaves without pressing hard.

5. Store it covered in the refrigerator

🌱 Store the container in the refrigerator, use leaves as an when required

6. Don't leave the container unattended

🌱 Whether you need coriander leaves or not, but don't leave the container unattended.. If you observe water drops in the container as well on the lid. Remove the coriander from the fridge, wipe the lid as well as container nicely with a kitchen cloth. This way you can easily store coriander for longer time..
