Imperfection is a kind of freedom. The recipe which I'm going to share is the one I use to make in the early days of my cooking. This recipe is all about preparing something with zero cooking knowledge.


Thanks to technology and Google, to learn or explore something is very easy nowadays. It's very easy to get access to any recipe we want today, but life was not same few years ago. 



Today's recipe is the best example of imperfection. I know this is not the correct or most desirable sabudana recipe, yet we use to love this preparation a lot.. We use to call this soupy and sticky sabudana recipe.. Lemon Juice and green chillies are added in good quantity in this recipe.. 



My today's recipe is very simple and easy and can be prepared without soaking sabudana overnight..


Let's get started 

  • Preparation time 2-3 minutes 
  • Cooking time 12-15 minutes 
  • Servings 2

Ingredients required 

  • 125 grams sabudana 
  • 1 onion
  • 1 potato 
  • 3-5 green chillies 
  • 8-10 curry leaves 
  • ½ tsp mustard seeds
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 lemon
  • 1tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste 
  • 1-2 tsp cooking oil


Method


✅Step 1 Mise en place 

◾Onion - peeled - roughly chopped 

◾Potato - peeled - finely chopped into small cubes

◾Green chillies - peeled - finely chopped 

◾Sabudana - wash - soak for ½ an hour - drain the water - keep it aside until called for.



✅Step 2 Cooking time 

◾Heat oil in a frying pan. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Leave it to splutter.




◾Add green chilies and curry leaves.



◾Add onions, fry until translucent and soft. 





◾Add potatoes, cook it on slow fire until soft or you can make use of boiled potatoes. 





◾Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt to taste. Mix it all well.




◾Add Sabudana stir fry for a minute or two. 





◾Add 1 - 2 cups of water. Let it cook on high flame for few mins.




◾Add the lemon juice. Cook until soft and slightly mushy.
